Dear Sublette UMC Congregation and Friends,

It is with a grateful and joyful heart I get to share with you a very significant answered prayer.  For the past 2 ½ years I have been praying that God will call someone(s) into leading our children and youth ministries.  We serve a mighty and awesome God.  This past Sunday, 1/8/2017, a group of 9 people have committed to jointly lead these efforts in the Sublette United Methodist Church.  I give God all praise, honor and glory for rising up this impressive team.

Here are some of the challenges I have set out for the team.

1.    The group is to meet every Sunday for the next 8 weeks immediately after the church service for no longer than 30 minutes.

2.    Identify children and youth programs already existing in our community in an effort to support these in unity rather than competitively.

3.    Identify needed or enhanced programs within Sublette United Methodist including Sunday school, Children’s Church, Youth groups and activities inside and outside our walls.

4.    Agree on an implementation plan with forecasted time lines

5.    Work from the understanding that it will be God who leads.

6.    If it is available…They will come…

This is what I ask of you.  As this group discerns how God may be leading and making these decisions, please pray for and with them.  If you are being called to help with this important ministry, please step forward now and offer your assistance.  I am also calling on you to unconditionally support their efforts.  None of us know where this will lead.  Certainly, there will be success and challenges along the way.  None-the-less, they will need your encouragement.

I am looking forward to see how God will lead the ministries, missions, and fellowship of the Sublette United Methodist Church and our community in 2017.  Our God is very good and the Holy Spirit is definitely stirring hearts.

Peace and Blessings,

Pastor Eddie Pennington
